Today was a great first day of first grade! It was so nice to see a class full of smiling faces this morning. We were so busy that the day flew by!
Thank you to those of you who returned the information that was mailed home to you last week. If you have still not completed the sheet explaining how your child will be getting home, please do so as soon as possible. If for some reason you did not receive this information, please let me know and I will send it home with your child tomorrow.
All students should have taken home their green “take-home” folder with an assignment and note from me. Please be sure to help your child open their backpack everyday to check for assignments and other important information. This will help to teach your child responsibility and to become more independent. The inside pockets are now labeled “keep at home” and “return to school”. Every morning, we will look through the pockets for notes and work from home. If your child will be going home from school in a different way than they usually do, please make sure to send a note in their green folder or email me so I can help them to remember how to go home.
Please help your child pack a fruit or vegetable to school each day if they would like to have a morning snack. Also, in order to minimize classroom disruptions please be sure to send your child to school with a water bottle so they will not need to leave the classroom to go to the drinking fountain. Sports tops work well because they do not easily spill.
We are off to a great start! I know that this is going to be a wonderful year for our class! Please do not hesitate to call or email me with any questions.
Thank you for your continued support!
